Ask the Expert: A sit down with Dr. Jason Marr, ND

#AsktheExpert

Today we have the pleasure of interviewing Evoke’s founder, director, and Naturopathic Doctor, Dr. Jason Marr.

Dr. Marr, how would you describe your service?

I’m a Naturopathic Doctor, Performance & Productivity Coach for busy urban professionals who are looking to create balance in their lives and thrive in everything that they do.

Who can benefit from seeing you?

Urban professionals who are burned out, stressed and struggling to keep up with the everyday.

How might you describe yourself as a practitioner?

Doctor as Coach

What do you do that may be different from others in your field?

I take a very pragmatic approach to integrating the best available options and working in a partnership with my clients to find the best next step, always with the primary goal of continually making positive steps

What are some personal things your patients may want to know about you? For ex: what do you like to do on your off time? Are you continuing any studies?

I am currently working towards certification as an Organizational Coach.  I really feel that it’s already made me a better doctor, a better coach and motivator, and allows me to see my clients in the context of their work.

Why did you become a practitioner in this field? What is your favorite part?

I love helping people be at their absolute best - If they’re going out and doing an awesome job of being them, collectively we’re changing the world.

What are some myths you might want to set the record straight on about your healing modality?

Naturopathic Medicine is a lot more evidence-informed than people give it credit for, and coaching isn’t just for athletes.

What can someone expect on the first visit?

To review the entirety of their case and discuss available options in an integrative manner.  Targeted physical examination.  It’s 60mins long and patients do not leave empty-handed - I am always keen on taking action as soon as possible, even if it’s with very basic steps.

How often should someone come see you?

Most new patients see me for 3 visits within the first 1-2mos.  The long-term goal is always to create resilience so that the people I work with can begin to feel more control over their health.

Do you give homework to patients?

Absolutely yes, every visit.  Working with me is as much like working with a Coach as it is a Doctor.
